Unformatted text preview: An example of an absolute Monarch is Peter the Great. He ruled from 1689 to 1725. He wanted to strengthen the government and reduce power of nobility. He shaped Russian into a great country. Even though he was an absolute monarch he did many things to help including making the military bigger and better, but also modernizing Russia a little more with tecchnological advancements and more. When we compare both of these rulers, you can see that Peter had more control of his country than what Charles I did. Even though they both ruled, Charles was limited by the constitution, which did not allow hiim to do as much as he wanted to. They were similar in the fact that they wanted to better their nations and make them more modernized. It is just that one could do it without parliament interference....
