Brown English 2 02/28/10 “I feel like I could get a nag for this shit.” -Geena Davis, on being a robber and a fugitive Thelma & Louise Thelma & Louiseis a film about two women who get on the road and never get off. Thelma’s husband is very controlling of her and does not let her go anywhere. When Louise decides to go on a two-day road trip with Thelma, Thelma does not ask her husband for permission for fear he will not let her go; instead she leaves him a note, packs her bags and walks out. Thelma likes to have fun and therefore convinces Louise to stop at a bar, “lighten up,” and have a few drinks with her. After a few drinks, a man approaches Thelma and asks her for a dance. She later accepts and during the dance the man takes her outside for some “fresh air” because Thelma feels dizzy. While outside, the man tries to convince her to have sex with him but when she refuses he slaps her. She slaps him back, he returns the slap and attempts to rape Thelma. Meanwhile, Louise comes out of the ladies room and asks the waitress where Thelma is. When she gets outside she sees the man trying to rape Thelma and points her gun at the man. The man backs down and they start walking away. As they are walking away the man incites them
