Protecting the ones we love...A parent’s greatest desire is to see their children grow to become the person they were intended. To achieve this we are tasked with keeping them safe and secure as they navigate the world of possibilities. Motor Vehicle accidents are a significant cause of death and injury in children. These preventable tragedies are snuffing out our hope for the future.
The Scary StatisticsMotor vehicle accidents in the US cause more deaths than any other injury (CDC, 2014). Every hour 150 children are treated in Emergency Rooms for injuries in a car accident (CDC, 2014).Car seat use reduces the risk of death by (CDC, 2014):•71% in infants•54% in toddlers•45% in ages 4-8In 2012, approximately 1100 children died and 176,000 were injured as a result of a vehicular collision (CDC, 2014).
Strategies for PreventionThe use of child restraints are required by law.
