Assignment #3 Central Station 1. Although they come from vastly different backgounds, both Ali and Josue care for particular “significant” individuals in their life, Ali for his younger sister Zahra and Josue for his adopted gardian Dora. Ali grew up in a stable home with a mother and father to care for him, while Josue grew up with a single mother who died leaving him to replace her and go on a quest to find his father. I believe this illistrate children’s inate ability to love. Ali only enters the race at school to get his sister a new pair of shoes, not for the thrill of winning. He is thouroughly disapointed when he wins first place rather than the third place prize of shoes. Tough Dora is not Josue’s mother he finds himself attatched to her. When she leaves him he is very, very upset by it, as is she. When he is scared during their journey he reaches for her, or hides his body behind hers. He truly cares how she feels and acts, and sometimes models his behavior after hers. Though he has gone thorough many hardships early in
