Nick Leon Psych 380 Article Summary 2 In Nesi and Prinstein’s study, the main focus was whether or not the use of technology and social media predicted concurrent depressive symptoms among adolescents. The study seeks to compare a self-report questionnaire that is taken by a group of students (619) at two time points. Once, at what would be considered at baseline, then again one year later, both times reporting on depressive symptoms and frequency of technology/social media usage, feedback-seeking, and excessive reassurance-seeking. The adolescents also participated in nominations of peer-reported popularity so that the researchers could gauge popularity as a moderator as well as gender. The results of the study essentially relied upon that second self-report taken by the students one year later from the first. Participants who reported using technology as defined in the study were compared to those who indicated that they did not use technology.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
