Written Case Analysis 2 A teacher raises several students course grades from F to D, this seems wrong at first. However, when analyzing it with utilitarianism, the teacher’s action is considered morally right. First of all, there are circumstances where those students have been diligent in their studies with extra works. And their future construction career requires little writing skill. Under these circumstances, a D grade provides a lot more utility than an F. Let us look at this case from different aspects of the overall effect. Scope means how many individuals would be affected. D grade from an English composition course does not seem to create negative impact to anybody, but it would definitely bring benefit to these students and their family. Because they are more than likely to be employed in jobs. The duration of this benefit would be a long time effect because a college degree is a permanent record which has a long-term effect on students.
