SCIE210-1601A-07 2 For this assignment I have chosen to research the Tropical Rainforest. The rainforest has a vast variety of plants and animals. In the rainforest on average 50 to 260 inches of rain falls every year. The tropical rain forest can be found in three major geographical areas around the world; Central America in the Amazon river basin, Africa - Zaire basin, West Africa, eastern Madagascar, Indo-Malaysia - west coast of India, Assam, Southeast Asia, New Guinea and Queensland, Australia ("Rainforest Biomes," n.d.). The Amazon Rainforest is one of the greatest natural resource in the world today. This rainforest receives about nine feet of rain annually and is populated by the world’s highest level of biodiversity and unidentified species, to date and counting there have been 441 new species of animals and plants have been discovered over the past four years.
