Specific Purpose: To persuade my audience that chemotherapy is a better treatment for leukemia than radiation. Central Idea: Chemotherapy is a better treatment because the drug goes through the whole body. Method of Organization: Comparative Advantage Introduction I. According to the American Cancer Society, “in the year 2006 alone, there are a total of 1,399,790 cancer reports in the United States. Also this year, more that 564,830 people are going to die this year from cancer in the United States which is at a rate of 1,500 people a day.” II. Has anybody here ever known a person that has had cancer? How about Leukemia? III. When I was in high school I had to do a senior research project and I thought I would research cancer because of the wide variety of information. Well I was not wrong, there is a lot to know, so I chose to research Leukemia to get in depth, but while doing this project I learned a lot of interesting information. IV. Cancer is a very big problem in the United States; it is the reason for many deaths in the past and for years to come
