Wendy Drennon HUM 3930 – 01 Prof. Susana Dias-Boria 1 April 2008 Viewer Response for Cleopatra I thought that Cleopatra was a type of feminist movie where a woman is going outside of her norms and the norms of society to do what makes her happy. This woman is two-fold in Cleopatra , both Cleopatra and Sandra embark on a weekend away from their daily lives. Cleopatra is a retired school teacher who is trying to make money by selling makeup because her husband had been laid off from work. On the other hand, Sandra is a soap star who has fame and fortune, but it being held back by her money crazed manager. These two characters meet under unusual circumstances, but they are just what each other needs. Sandra wants to get away from her job and the stress that comes with being a star, so she cuts her hair and packs to go on a trip. Cleopatra, on the other hand, just needed someone to talk to, and Sandra offered that to her. After a sequence of events, the two decide to go on the weekend excursion together and it turns out to be life
