I believe that a “respectful workplace” approach is better than a “no harassment” focusedapproach. Harassment behaviours, either physical or nonphysical, can vary from simple rudeact like shutting a door on an individual’s face, to more aggressive act like sabotage (Kellowayet. al., 2021). Most organization would have anti-harassment policy in place as an obligation,but having a respectful workplace approach in an organization would develop a norm ofrespectful interactions among the employees as well as the management.A major part of respectful workplace programs would include a training period of theemployees and employer. Under this training, they would be taught about bullying, harassment,and aggression, and how to address workplace abuse in any form (Kelloway et. al., 2021). Theybecome more sensitive to the impact of their actions in a societal environment on otherindividuals (Kelloway et. al., 2021).All employees will be treated equally, valued, and able to communicate without any fearor hesitation.
