Hello Everyone,    For Exam 1, Chapters 1, 2 and 3 should be your focus as far as text material goes.  Please do read,  think seriously about, and make sure you comprehend the APA Ethical Principles of Psychologists and  Code of Conduct (2002) as well.  On Monday, it is my hope to finish our quite cursory review of ethics and  begin our statistics refresher.  Hence, I doubt that Exam 1 will cover Chapter 3 in full, but I suspect some  material from Chapter 3 will be included on the exam.  For example, you should: 1) understand the four types of scales of measurement (i.e., nominal, ordinal, interval, ratio) and the  general properties on which they differ (i.e., magnitude, equal intervals, absolute zero) 2) be able to provide names and basic descriptions of the common measures of central tendency and  variability that are in our descriptive statistics armamentarium (e.g., mean, median, mode; range, standard
