The machines’ 8 hour availability each day converts to 480 minutes (8 hours x 60 min/hour). The processing time for attaching care labels depends on the type of shirt and is calculated as follows: A[4 min x 20 demand] + B[10x5] + C[5x25] + D[6x10] + E[8x15] = 435 minutes The total demand for all shirt types is 75 (20+5+25+10+15). Since it takes the same amount of time to brand all shirt designs, the total processing time for this step is: 6.5 minutes x 75 = 487.5 minutes . The company does not have enough capacity to satisfy demand because the time required to brand the number of demanded shirts exceeds the machine’s availability time (487.5 min > 480 min). The
