Yost, Cody 11/7/13 Vessel (1) Oceanic Sirius- Geophysical Research Vessel (2) Venturer- Seismic Research Out of all the ships in the sea I chose the… Oceanic Sirius and the Venturer, which were both on the Galveston ship channel. They both fit the requirements of the assignment and I really enjoyed touring them and meeting the crew members aboard both of the vessels. I learned a lot of useful information about these two types of vessels that I was unaware of beforehand. The first ship I visited for my report was the Oceanic Sirius which was located on Pier forty-one on the Galveston Ship channel. It was a Geophysical research vessel. It was owned by Eidessvik A/S which is French. It is registered in Norway and also fly’s a Norwegian flag. It is one hundred and six point three meters long over all. Its gross tonnage is twelve thousand-five hundred and fifty tons. It has four V-12 engines and two inline six engines which were all diesel-electric. It has a twin screw propulsion system with dynamic positioning. It has two knobs instead of a traditional steering wheel at the helm. There are three helms on the bridge. There was one main helm in the middle and two remote helms on the port and starboard side. It also has a bow and a stern thruster.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
