Unformatted text preview: Ashley Devine SOC 110 M,R 2-3:50 Journal 1 – AIDS Awareness When looking at the different AIDS awareness posters from Africa and America I noticed that there were a lot more differences than similarities. The only similarity that I really saw between the posters from the two different regions was the stress for people to wear condoms. All posters suggested wearing a condom every time you’re sexually active because it is the only way to protect against HIV and AIDS. While the posters from Africa were very basic, many of the American posters went into detail of how AIDS is contracted. One of the American posters also went into details of how you can protect yourself from HIV and AIDS. This shows that we, as Americans, are much more aware and educated about HIV and AIDS than people in African countries. This is probably because health care and technology in America is African countries....
