Unformatted text preview: Ashley Devine Soc 110 M, R 2-3:50 Journal 2 Culture & Evolution Dr. Polly Wiessner is right in learning from the San and their social relationships. As people in a hunting-gathering society, it is nearly impossible for the San to survive by themselves. As shown in the video, members of this particular group of people talk with people from surrounding communities and build relationships. The woman Dr. Wiessner spoke with in the video showed her all of the beaded necklaces she had received from members of neighboring communities. This serves as a way to show these people that if theres ever a time when they have nowhere to stay or if they have no food and they need help to survive, their friends from these neighboring communities will always be willing to help them out.
