Anthropological Narrative
At approximately 6:15 pm at the Sky Harbor International Airport in Phoenix,
Arizona, the passengers of flight 833 to Milwaukee, Wisconsin were told their flight
would be delayed. From the second the individuals at the customer service counter made
the announcement over the P.A. system, you could feel the tension in the air at the gate.
People became uneasy and on edge. As more and more people started arriving at the gate
for what they thought would be a 6:30 departure, they each took their turn asking the
customer service representatives what was going on. After each person left the counter,
having found out their flight was delayed; you could see the look of irritation and
disappointment on their faces. Along with this, you could recognize the looks of
annoyance on the employees’ faces. The customers were getting upset with the customer
