Ashley Devine Soc 110 – M, R 2-3:50 Journal 7 American Marriage I believe American marriages are more like patrilocal societies.  This is because,  usually, the wife is the one who stays at home with the children, while the husband is the  one who brings home the income.  Also, the wife usually takes the last name of the  husband rather than keeping her maiden name.  Traditionally, these are the things that  happen, however, in today’s societies things have been changing more.  There are more  wives who are keeping their maiden names.  Along with this, there are more families that  are becoming two income families.   Typically, the bride and bride’s family pay for things such as ceremony costs  (church, decorations, etc.), entertainment, flowers, photographer, and reception costs.

What students are saying

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

I cannot even describe how much Course Hero helped me this summer. It’s truly become something I can always rely on and help me. In the end, I was not only able to survive summer classes, but I was able to thrive thanks to Course Hero.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
