The simplest way to do this is to build strategic flexibility sothat they can swiftly adjust to developing issues. Strategic flexibility is an organization's abilityto quickly identify changes in the external environment in real time, allocate sufficient andnecessary resources such as finances, technology, and human resources to respond to thechanges, and organize and respond quickly when it is time to divert previously allocatedresources (Flexibility in healthcare environments, 2020).Strategic flexibility requires managers to understand when to dedicate resources toadapting to changes in the working environment and when to avoid investing in projects that willnot yield results. Strategic flexibility is critical in the healthcare business since several changesoccur, beginning with record-keeping, maintaining security for patients' information, avoidingcyber-attacks, technological improvements that need new ways of doing things and resolvingchallenges, and so on. The pandemic outbreak has also influenced how the healthcare industryfunctions, with some hospitals forced to close because to a lack of preparedness. Strategicplanning guarantees that the healthcare sectors are always ready for any changes that may occur.
FLEXIBILITY AND EFFECTIVE MANAGEMENT3Explain flexibility as a tool for strategically adapting and changing in the healthcareorganization.The demand to adjust to current and vital tasks throughout a short and extended period isaddressed by flexibility in the healthcare business. Some modifications must be implemented assoon as possible by the healthcare sector to enhance service delivery or eliminate causality. Thehealthcare business must meet increased expectations over an extended period. Assume there is atransient outbreak of an infectious disease. In that case, strategic flexibility will allow thehospital manager to make short-term changes to address the issue.
