Dr.Mullen MIS 371 M 2-4:30pm Ch.13 Pg 459 1) When assigning programming tasks, the project manager must group any related modules and assign the more complex ones to the experienced skilled programmers, and the less complex one to the novice programmers. If a mismatch occurs between programming skills and skills needed, the project manager should help provide additional training or use mentoring with skilled programmers. 2) The project manager should not hire additional programmers should the project fall behind schedule. The larger the programming staff is, the harder it is to manage and coordinate their activities, leading to an even greater time requirement. The appropriate solution should be to extend the deadline. 3) Project teams assign different areas for the programmers to work. They can be different directories on a server, different servers, or different physical locations.

One method is to keep programmers and their files in different locations. Another is to keep a program log of who is working on what program. This is helpful for the manager and the programmers because it keeps the programmers from working on another program. It also tells the project manager who is working on what project, and what status of development is completed. 2...
