Dr.Mullen MIS 371 M 2-4:30pm Ch. 2, Pg 56 2) The purpose of an approval committee is to determine if the proposed system request is something that is reasonable and productive to the business. The committee is composed of a top-level executive, who has resources to carry out the request if approved. Other members may include the finance dept, and/or other business analyst’s, within the company. If approved then the feasibility studies will begin. After the feasibility studies are completed, the committee will then review and decide whether to go though with the project, or not. 3) The system request should be made by the businessperson of the company because that person would have the information available to analyze if a proposal would be profitable to the company. IS could also make a proposal however their job does not require the how to improve the sales or savings of a company but rather how to keep the information process intact and usable. 4) The difference between tangible and intangible value is the ability to assign accurate costs.
