Cooperative Learning- Peer centered learning experience in which students work together in small groups to promote the learning of each group member. Collaborative Learning- Peer centered learning in which students work together on academic problems with the goal of arriving at solutions that are more effective than solutions that could have been derived from individual effort alone. Cultural Compatibility Hypothesis- Theory that school is most effective if it is consistent with the practices of the child’s background culture. 1.
