Hybrid Cars As gasoline prices increase and the health of our environment declines, people need to look for other ways to power cars. One of alternative form of energy is known as hybrid power. A hybrid car combines two or more sources of power. Hybrid vehicles are an alternative being used to decrease the emissions of vehicles and to decrease the amount of fossil fuels being used. Hybrid vehicles also cost less to operate because less fuel is used. The gasoline-electric hybrid car is a cross between a gasoline-powered car and an electric car. Hybrid vehicles offer a great improvement to the air quality for vehicles that are powered by gasoline. The hybrid vehicle does contribute to green house emissions; it’s just drastically reduced because the fuel that powers the hybrid comes from a petroleum based fuel. The pollution from the production of fuel for hybrids is the same as the pollution created in the production of fuel for gasoline vehicles because they both use gasoline. The pollution is
