Chapter 6: Strategic Planning Strategic Planning- Strategic Planning- The management function of forecasting the future, and developing from that a plan to achieve the organization’s objectives. Planning is an ongoing process, and must be constantly alert to forces of change. The PLAN is the centerpiece that supports the goals, objectives and vision of the oranizations leaders, and that determines the direction of all management functions. Questions companies must ask during planning- Where do we want to go as a company. Strategic Plan- considers the vision of the leader and organizational mission, lays groundwork for development of objectives and action plans. Orgainzing- looks to the plan for guidance, while providing the organizational structure and chain of command essential to supporting the STRATEGIC plan, Tactical and operation plans- developed by middle and supervisory levels of management.
