There have been 43 presidential administrations, and there had been 42 presidents. o Significant presidents; outstanding leadership, significant change to American politics and/or the office of the Presidency. o Caretaker presidents; kept the status quo o George Washington; first significant president and first super president; set a precedent; founders understanding of the presidency, expected the presidency to be dependent on congress, they thought the presidency would be a lesser institution that congress; George Washington was unanimously elected to both terms of office (every elector in both elections
