Brandon Carl Smith February 20,2008 Summary The core of the experiment was revolved about the relationship among volume, pressure, and temperature. The experiment consisted of two parts. The first part of the experiment was part A which observed the relationship between pressure and volume. Using the Logger Pro computer program we opened a file that would record data of both pressure and volume. The computer was connected to a pressure sensor that the program utilized to record its measurements. The piston of a 20-mL syringe was moved until the black marker was positioned on the 10-mL marker. The syringe was connected to the sensor, and data was collected. After measuring the pressure in 10-mL of oxygen, the syringe was repositioned at various volumes between 5 and 20-mL to record various readings of the volumes. The results were graphed. In part B, the relationship between pressure and temperature was measured. A beaker was filled with water and placed on a hot plate.
