Kris Kelly Rates of Chemical Rxns Lab CHEM 122L 2/25/08 Introduction/Theory: This experiment deals with the rates of reactions with varying molarities of S 2 O 8 2- and I - . By using a mixture of various substances, the reaction can be facilitated at different rates and in different volumes. By determining the rate for each reaction, the order of each reactant as well as the entire reaction. After the orders are determined, the specific rate constant can be determined. With all this determined information, the rate law can be produced. This experiment will show the rates of each set of reactions in a linear fashion as shown in graphs.
