Unformatted text preview: % C 2 O 4 2-18.2 % 18.3 % 18.6 % Average % C 2 O 4 2-= 18.37 % Standard Deviation = .157 % Conclusion/Source of Error: All the results were very proportionate to the mass of unknown used and volume of KmnO 4 titrated in each trial. The data was very precise, whether or not it is accurate is hard to determine without the data for theoretical yield. The standard deviation from the mean was a very small number, meaning that the experiment was reproduced well in each of the three trials. Sources of error include: inaccurate measurement of the mass of the unknown and inaccurate titrations/ buret readings. These discrepancies would throw off the percent C 2 O 4 2-, thus causing a faulty result to the experiment....
