STUDENT I.D 4IntroductionThis report aims to provide a personal view of my professional development byinterpreting my talents and knowledge while taking into account personal attributes, strengths, and future growth potential. In addition, I need to identify professional objectives and create apersonal growth plan (PDP). PDP is the concept of defining aims and goals and priority areas toachieve them in the workplace. They may be set for the short, medium, or long term. This isaccomplished by assessing current circumstances, validating required skills and capabilities, andselecting appropriate planning practices to meet the stated requirements. Personal development isa never-ending cycle of growing, moulding, and developing skills and talents to reach maximumoutput and continuous employability (CMI, 2020).Johari WindowWhen American psychologists Joseph Luft and Harry Ingham were exploring group phenomenaat the University of California, Los Angeles, in 1955, they devised it (Saxena, 2015). The Johariwindow strategy is used to assist people in improving their views of others.
STUDENT I.D 5Figure 1: Johari Window (Source: Author)This is an accurate representation of me. However, a couple of the adjectives in the blind spotregion astounded me. I don't associate myself with brainy qualities like being clever, intelligent,well-informed, etc. People around me always supply me with the knowledge that helps meimprove. I often tried to elucidate a concept but got stuck and muttering my own words.A conscious understanding of one's personality would surely boost one's self-esteem. It alsohelps in forming more meaningful relationships with people via constant self-improvement andawareness of our imperfections to evolve as a person. I was often given the position of "leader"in group projects. To be a "leader," one must have a strong personality, be accessible to others,
STUDENT I.D 6and have faith in their fellow group members. I would be more self-aware if I knew where Iexcelled and where I fell short. This is where my teammates will come in to cover for myshortcomings. Without a doubt, if individuals examine their strengths and shortcomings, I, as a"leader," will be able to comprehend better and support them, enhancing trust and connectingwithin the group and improving communication.
