Yasmine Karimi Bio 102-Perrier Paper Outline “What are some natural remedies that can be used to maintain a healthy immune system?” I. First Paragraph-Introduction a. Interesting Fact i. Did you know that the medicinal qualities among fruits and vegetables are greater and more effective with less side-effects than modern medicine? ii. When consuming fruit, we gain more energy from its natural sugars because it allows for a clean burning process amplifying energy in our bodies b. Topic of Paper Explanation i. Out of the millions of alternative medicinal instruments, this paper will focus on four: honey, pineapple, garlic, and citric acid. II. Second Paragraph-Honey a. Intro Sentence i. Honey acts as an antioxidant and contains trace amounts of several vitamins and minerals. 1. The various vitamins in honey are B6, thiamin, niacin, riboflavin, pantothenic acid and certain amino acids. (www.benefits-of- honey.com, 2006) 2. The minerals found in honey include calcium, copper, iron, magnesium, manganese, phosphorus, potassium, sodium and zinc. (www.benefits-of-honey.com, 2006) b. Honey is considered to be “Nature’s Energy Booster” proving to instantaneously enhance performance, stamina, and diminish muscle exhaustion raising the body’s immune system defenses. (www.benefits-of- honey.com, 2006) i. The fructose and glucose prevent fatigue during implementation and are digested by the body once swiftly absorbed into the bloodstream. ii. Compared to other sugars, honey maintains blood glucose levels at a fairly constant degree. iii. Honey is also much sweeter than table sugar because of its high levels of fructose proving to not only be more health conscious than table sugar but also effective.
