MCB 150: Tips For Success Underlying Concept: Find out BEFORE exam week, what you do and do not know. **Most Important Tip: Try to describe concepts to someone else who can correct you if you’re wrong (i.e. Prof Mehrtens, TA, other students in class). Before Exam Week: 1. LEARN, don’t cram 2. Utilize Lon-Capa. Question content is very similar, style is not at all. (Questions on Lon- Capa are written by TAs) 3. Review a little bit every day. Aim for 30 minutess on lecture days and 1 hour on weekends in addition to time on homework. 4. Take homework problems seriously. 5. Bring a recorder so you don’t miss information. When reviewing your notes, listening to the recording may help fill in problem areas. 6. Rewrite your notes. 7. The majority of exam questions come from lecture, but a couple will come from required reading. DO THE READING. 8. Reviews in discussion are designed to help you determine your knowledge. 9.
