In our lab this week we learned the concepts of Newton’s laws through the use three different experiments. The first experiment required our group to test the accelerations of free falling objects with the use of a racquet ball and a piece of paper. The second experiment involved the use of a photogate and a picket fence to show real world examples of the analysis of free falling motion of objects. The third and final experiment was working with tensions and Newton's second law with the dynamics cart and a weight connected with rope and separated by a pulley. The first experiment was to show how when two objects are dropped at the same time they will have the same velocity on their descent and will hit the ground at the same time. This theory was demonstrated using a rubber racquet ball and a piece of paper that was first regular and then after a few runs we crumpled it to lessen the air resistance.
