APPLE AND STREAMING MUSIC2 Apple and Streaming Music The author of this paper was given an assignment to find a current article that was related to marketing. The author chose Apple as the discussion topic, specifically Apple’s launch of streaming music. Apple has recently announced the launch of its music subscription service that will arrive June 30 th . While music streaming is nothing new, Pandora, iHeart Radio, and several others, the fact that Apple has opened the door to streaming music have people discussing the fact that the music industry is once again taking a dramatic change. From 8-Track to cassette, to compact disc, to MP3, and now live streaming, the way people purchase and listen to music has underwent many changes and the launch of Apple’s “Apple Music” is the mark of yet another turning point. Apple unveiled the “Apple Music” launch during their World Wide Developers Conference. Apple revealed that Apple users would get three free months of the live music streaming program, but after the three months users would either pay a plan that is $10/month for single users or $15/month for family users with up to six members sharing a family plan. The article discussed that nearly a decade ago iPod and iTunes seemed like the wave of the future,
