March 12, 2008 Ken Roberts Guys and Dolls SUNY Plattsburgh’s production of Guys and Dolls was extremely impressive. The actors were very professional and were in character, making the production very arresting. Most of the time I found myself watching Sky Masterson. I watched him the most I believe, not just for the fact that he had a large role, but it was fascinating to see how his character changed throughout the play. Both the character and the actor changed as time progressed. Sky was played by Tyler Nye. In the beginning of the play the actor Tyler, seemed to have trouble fitting in to his character. His sentences seemed very much rehearsed, due to how he spaced his words. They just didn’t sound as if he were to be saying them naturally in real life. As the play progressed, he appeared to become more comfortable and settled into who his character was a lot more. He did however, appear very confidant. He moved about the stage very well, and showed the nuances of his charcter through his tone and facial expressions. I could defiantly tell what the
