Green; the new Brown Restoring Brownfields in the Buffalo-Niagara Region Kristen Nestler PD305 Environmental Education and Communication 1. The awareness issue presented in this poster is the importance of reusing Brownfields in the Buffalo-Niagara region. 2. This poster shows some Brownfields that have negatively impacted the Buffalo-Niagara region, and other Brownfields in Washington that have been restored and have had a positive impact on that region. 3. It is intended for people that don’t understand the importance of reducing the number of Brownfields in the region. 4. I would like viewers to realize that the Western New York region had great potential to be healthy and beautiful, and areas of old unused land create problems related to health, the economy and the future of the region. 5. How Brownfields hurt the community and how reusing them greatly benefits a community is the main way I convey my message. 6.
