First Man and First Women were created. “First Man and First Women enteredthe shelter and thus became husband and wife”. (29) In all, the First Man and First Womanhadfive pairs of twins, and all but the first became couples who had children” (The Native AmericanLegends). The Children of the First Man and First Women married among the Kissannii andmirage people. They all lived in harmony for over eight years. “In one of the lower worlds, FirstMan and First Women had a bitter dispute about whether men and women need each other tolive”. (Myth Encyclopedia). The First Man and First Women got into an argument over who wasthe cause of successful hunting and food production.“First Man was a great hunter and providedmuch food, but First Women made an ungrateful remark that insulted and greatly angered FirstMan” .(30) As the argument escalated both believed they could be successful without the other.The First Man moved to the other side of the river along with all the other men. The First manand First Women were separated over four years. (30). But to me what happened in this argumenthad three issues.
The argument shouldn’t have resulted in separation of the men and women. First Manwas proud and confident. This was probably the first time he hadn’t been complimented for
