Nicholas Alley Professor Martin ENGL 2327 S02 9-18-05 Real characters It seems that the Star Wars series has almost every literary element in it. The “hero’s journey chart” is a perfect summery of it. The main character, Anakin Skywalker, goes through the most drastic changes throughout the series. In the first movie, Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace , he is called upon to race in the big race so that they can get a part for the Jedi's ship. This starts his journey. In the second movie, Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones , he trains to become a Jedi knight so he can fight off the evil that the universe faces. He also shows signs that he is rebellious; such as when he tells Padmé, his future wife, that Obi-Wan Kenobi, his instructor, is holding him back. In the third movie, he has two kids, and he turns to the dark side of the force. When he turns bad he is given one of the top positions with the bad guys. In the fourth movie, Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope
