Integrity means being honest with yourself , being self-aware about your weaknesses and strengths . According to the article , “Discovering your authentic leadership” 1 keeping yourself grounded is one of the most difficult challenges for a leader . It is very important for a leader to be the same person at every situation including at work , with friends or with family . The world keeps changing and it can shape you but a leader has to make conscious choices . Authenticate leaders are confident about their decisions and are very disciple , particularly during the time of stress when it is very easy to slip back to bad habits . A leader must not forget his values and practices during stressful times . The authors explain us the importance of knowing your authentic self with the help of David Pottruck’s journey to self-awareness , former CEO of Charles Schwab . Pottruck was a hard worker but he was not ready to accept his denial , which he later realized was the only problem in his life through integrity . The article , “The work of Leadership” 2 tells us the history of British Airways and how it coped up with the changing environment through the help of integrity . organization , and he was very truthful to his staff that helped create a trusth worth environment . I can consider integrity as one of my major weaknesses . I tend to have two personalities , one at work and other with friends and family . After reading the article , it is very clear that I need to be honest to myself to be successful . I cannot overlook any denials about myself , instead I should accept them and learn how to change my bad habits . Job knowledge and people-building skills go hand in hand . Job knowledge leads to confident decision , no leader can be successful without a team even the most confident leaders need a support team and advise . Authenticate leaders built extra ordinary teams that would support them during uncertain times and help them make the correct decisions . Most leaders have a multifaceted support team that includes friends , family and work colleagues . The article , “Discovering your authentic leadership” gives us excellent example of Bill George’s experience of a support group , which was the sole reason of his success he admits . Leaders actively seek new talent to achieve long term results , which is their bottom line .
