Lesson Plan Format Lesson Topic Passing and dribbling Grade Level 6 Date: March 25, 2008 Time: Begin 9:30 End: 9:40 Anticipatory Set : Show-Me Standards: GLEs: National Standards: Objectives Motor: show dribbling proficiency in the skills and will be able to pass the ball with a partner using the bounce, chest, and overhead passes. Cognitive: be able to use the cues to perform the skills and demonstrate them while in practice sessions. Affective: By manipulating the ball in a controlled manner to develop a sense of confidence in their ability to work with a basketball as well as become comfortable with the ball and ease any fear that they may have of it. Cues: 1. Use the finger pads when you dribble. 2. When passing with a partner try to aim the ball at your partners chest. 3. Step toward your partner. 4. Point with your hands where you want the ball to go on the follow through of your pass. 5. Do not try to knock your partner over, keep your passes easy and under control.
