AG 201-01 Jennifer Dinan NGO assignment 9/14/06 An NGO stands for a non-governmental organization. It is a non-profit group or association that acts outside of the institutional political structures and works to change matters of interests that need help being changed. The NGO that I researched is called the Christian Children’s Fund (CCF). “Their main goal is to help every child develop their full physical, mental, and social potential. They also want to help them become self- reliant, contributing members of their communities.” CCF is committed to implementing cost-effective, community based childcare and development programs that contribute to the well-being of children. They want to improve the quality of life of poor and underprivileged children around the world, by providing educational opportunities that encourage independence.
