The Sacred1. One of such representative places is a symbolic place which is artificially located so thatit cannot interact with the sacred and designed in such a way that in “invites” holiness. Anexample of such a place can be steam lodge of ceremonial hogan. Such a place sharescommon characteristics such as total darkness and presence of a fire in the centre. The mainintention of this place is to develop the ability to see the inner part of a man, to raise thepenetration in the sphere of dreams.2. By saying “Heaven and earth are threads of one loom” Shakers meant that the earthly andthe heavenly life are meant to be lived here, now at this moment, and at the same time shouldbe lived two ways – as if there is an eternity to life it, and as is if one dies tomorrow. By thisphrase they show their intention to live the life on the two levels – spiritual and natural - atthe same moment. One of the examples of how Shakers tried to live out this belief is presentin their architecture. The way they configured their villages and all the buildings in them“served to indicate the pattern of an apocalyptic vision”. I perceived it as an intention forperfection, as an intention to vanish the boarders between the earthly and heavenly life, tocreate the surrounding which would combine the profanity and the sacredness.
