Thesis Statement-
Wearing uniforms can help promote a healthy environment
because it can help reduce violence, encourage discipline in students, and help
reduce socioeconomic disparities.
II.
Body paragraph #1 – Reduce Violence
A. Supporting Evidence- “In Long Beach, CA, after two years of a district-wide K-8
mandatory uniform policy, reports of assault and battery in the district's schools
decreased by 34%, assault with a deadly weapon dropped by 50%, fighting incidents
went down by 51%, sex offenses were cut by 74%, robbery dropped by 65%, possession
of weapons decreased by 52%, possession of drugs went down by 69%, and vandalism
was lowered by 18%”(

Explanation- Journal of School Health, violence in schools had a negative
impact on students’ motivation for learning. One of every five public school
students dreaded the thought of going to school. One of seven felt paying
attention in school was not important. Also one of ten would stay home or ditch
