Sarah Lipovsky English 140 October 10, 2006 Dr. Schweitzer Cathedral Assignment Can I ever picture the story “Cathedral” by Raymond Carver as a television production or a movie? My answer is yes. Hollywood will turn anything into entertainment for a small profit. It seems that television today consists of every brainless program and topic I could ever imagine. Some shows are so ridiculous I can barely believe they air them. Movies recently have also been very disappointing. Who wants to watch a movie about snakes who are taking over a plane? Sounds realistic and likely, right? I hope you are sensing my sarcasm. The story Cathedral was an interesting read, and as I was reading it my imagination was running wild. As I read I create images of what is happening within the plot, images of what I believe the characters look like and of the setting. Sometimes, when a movie is created of a book or story it is a let down because suddenly your imagination cannot run free. There is no mystery, and appearances
