Abbey Blair 10/4/15 Conservation of Matter Period 5 Introduction: In the lab "Conservation of Matter" we refer to the Law of Conservation of Matter to help us determine, by experiment, if mass is conserved during a particular set of chemical reactions. In this lab i expected to see no change in mass of the substances measured and i learned that the Law of Conservation of Matter is true. Safety: In this lab i wore goggles and long pants due to exposure to hazardous chemicals such as sulfuric acid which is severely corrosive to eyes, skin, and other tissue. We also used calcium chloride which is slightly toxic. Waste was disposed of by pouring it down the sink and rinsed with running water. Procedure: Page 6 of the lab book. Data: Qualitative Observations: -At first it was clear, then as i stirred it thickened until it was a thick white paste. -When the acid was added it fizzed, then thinned out, and then became warm.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
