My Strategy for College Success 2 My Strategy for College Success The plan to start college, was not much of a plan at all. This paper will explain what motivated me to go to college and break down my strategy for obtaining a Bachelors Degree in Business Management. In writing this paper I am creating a path and placing the overall goal in sight. I must determine three important aspects; career goals, time management, and the study methods I will use to reach my goals. A motivational quote I feel relative to this paper was, “Making the most of the opportunities that college offers starts with knowing, as much as you can, about who you are and what you want.” (Carter, Bishop, Kravits, & Drexler, 2013, pg. 14). Career Goals I was in between jobs and I said to myself, with a wife and child, sitting at home waiting for work is not an option. This led me to think about what I needed to do to secure a high paying job and what that job should be. I have always wanted to be an Architect, Designer, and Builder of my designs. My wife became supportive of me going to school full-time in hopes of future success. My original college goals became pretty implausible once I realized the effort I would have to put in. As I talked to friends and family around me they all said the same or similar things. I am not easy to work with, but I am easy to take directions from, a natural leader. With
