Eulia Drivas HUM 3321-0007 Megan Leverage Cultural Artifact: Fury Norman Ellison has changed to Norman Ellison. Something as simple as a changing gender could possibly change the name of the movie from Fury to Norma’s Fury. Even though the change in gender makes Emma becoming homosexual, its more weighted on how Norma’s character changes. Since Norman is Norma now, she is even more susceptible to almost hazing from the other boys in a sexual way. Norma’s has the same values as Norman she’s still the under dog and she still is learning the ropes of the tank and how to shoot the Nazis. Normans main focus is to get out of this war alive, with knowing that his platoon that he’ll be accepted. Now that Norman is Norma, she will still be able to have that dream just as Norman does but the difference will be that Norma is more sexualized by the other platoon members. In the breakfast scene where War Daddy and Norman go into the girls house they are in control especially war daddy. Grabbing Emma by her wrist and and then he turns to Norman…”
