Surname 1 Name Professor’s Name Course Date How Conditions on the Homefront Affected Military Decisions in World War I By the time World War One erupted in 1918, eight million people were dead. It was a dreadful section in the history of humanity. Britain made enormous economic sacrifices so as to defeat the enemy. The First World War had tremendous effects on women suffrage throughout the belligerents. Women, for example, had a central role on the home fronts as most countries acknowledged their sacrifices due to their contributions in the course of and after the war (Howard). While the German Army realized its need for cooperation from the homefront, Hapsburg soldiers perceived themselves as entirely different from the civilian populace. After conquering the productive areas such as Romania, they took most of the supplies including food for themselves and choked shipments destined for the Austro-Hungarian Empire. The outcome was that the soldiers led a comfortable life as civilians faced starvation. Therefore, the army got
