Harley Davidson Diversity Audit 3 Executive Summary Harley Davidson is a brand which allows their customer to be themselves, express their own identity, social status, and individuality. My audit is how they integrate that diversity of customers into their hiring, business dealings, management practices, programs, and marketing. I identified various guidelines and tactics from whom they have in upper management to how they interact in their communities. Harley Davidson is a worldwide leader in motorcycle sales and a creator of jobs wherever they enter a market. The company has a very diverse employee base and as a result they have created programs and partnerships which have allowed them to expand into new markets. They are proactive and taking the initiative in including diversity and seeking to include everyone. They espouse the belief everyone should ride and work no matter what their background. Organization Background Harley Davidson, which was started in 1900 by William S. Harley and Arthur Davidson, put its first motorcycle out to the public and began what would become a worldwide icon. The motorcycle industry is fiercely competitive and there are few exclusively motorcycle companies which can compete with Harley Davidson. Harley Davidson motorcycles are found all over the world and you can find retailers in over 100 different countries. The need for them to be diverse in their approach is paramount for their success.

Harley Davidson Diversity Audit 4 I chose Harley Davidson because, more than anything, I love their motorcycles. It is what we ride in my police department, also what is ridden by me and ”most” of my close friends. (Yes, I have one who rides a Honda). Anyway, I also chose them because of their business model and how well they appeal to all kinds of people worldwide. I have seen Harleys in Korea, the Middle East, Australia, New Zealand, Europe, Mexico, Canada, and those are just the countries I have been to which I have noticed the Harley Davidson motorcycle on the road. I have been to Harley stores in at least four of those countries as well. They know how to market and appeal to diverse people in many locations.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
