Week 8 Lecture Notes This week, you will complete the course by examining some websites that deal with the future of our species. Many of you mentioned during the first part of our course, when thinking about evolutionary theory, that you were interested in where our species is headed. Where do you think it is headed? If you are stressed about your final and don’t have time to read them right away, please bookmark the sites and revisit them when you have time. They might spark some really interesting discussions in your household or at work! Here are just a few highlights of this week’s readings. According to one source, we should be using floating communities by the year 3000. Sign my descendents up for the Caribbean community please! We hear frequent reports about anti-aging drugs and cosmetics. When you really think about it, do you want to live forever? Is it even possible? As college-educated people, people in your community or family or workplace may look to you for unbiased information and opinions about hot button issues.
