The product synthesis gas has the volume percent composition as follow: 3.5% CO 2 , 2.3% C 2 H 4 , 23.2% CO, 39.3% H 2 , 11.6% CH 4 , 1.7% C 2 H 6 , and 18.4% N 2 . How many kilograms of air are used per kilogram of butane? Problem 2. Ethanol (C 2 H 5 OH) is dehydrogenated in the presence of air over a catalyst, and the following reactions take place: C 2 H 5 OH CH 3 CHO + H 2 2C 2 H 5 OH + 3O 2 4CO 2 + 6H 2 2C 2 H 5 OH + 2H 2 4CH 4 + O 2 CH 3 CHO is a liquid and is collected at the bottom of the reactor.
