1. List and describe the various components of a radio system Every machine has components, which vary through each machine and type. A radio system has four components. “These components include filters, mixers, amplifiers, and antennas.” (Olenewa, 2013. Pg. 86). “There are three types of RF filters: low-pass, bandpass, and high-pass.” (Olenewa, 2013. Pg. 90). A low-pass filer allows you to set a maximum frequency, and any frequency lower than that come in. A high-pass filter is the opposite, you set a minimum frequency and anything higher than that comes through. A bandpass, sets a maximum and a minimum and allows anything in between. A mixer combines two frequencies and produces a one range of frequencies. “The single output of a mixer is in the range of the highest sum and the lowest difference of the two frequencies.” (Olenewa, 2013. Pg. 91). An amplifier, obviously, amplifies the radio frequency signals. So it just allows your radio to pick up stations

Unformatted text preview: from a greater distance. An ampliFer also allows a radio sta³on to broadcast their signal at a greater distance as well. You can’t receive a signal without an antenna to detect it. The be´er the antenna the bigger the range you have to detect a frequency. Those are the basic components of a radio. Which in your cars would be the most important ones, with probably li´le other components as well. However, other devices that uses radio signals require more components. “However, in a radio system that incorporates two-way communica³ons—for example, cellular phones connected via a wireless network—there are other considera³ons, including mul³ple user access, transmission direc³on, switching, and signal strength.” (Olenewa, 2013. Pg. 92)....

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
